Driver thrown from golf cart in collision with car

The driver of a golf cart was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital after a collision Friday morning with a car.

The golf cart had been eastbound on Wedgewood Lane at about 8 a.m. and proceeded through an intersection and then sideswiped a vehicle that had been northbound on Village Campus Circle, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The golf cart driver was ejected from the cart in the collision.

    This is only a two way stop, not a four way stop as a lot of people assume. So a lot of people stop at the stop sign on Wedgewood but don’t seem to realize that there is no stop sign on Village Campus Circle and proceed through the intersection thinking the car coming from the other direction is going to stop. Seen it many times.

    All accidents are not the result of drinking. This could well not have been a Villager, since residents of Bison Valley also use that portion of Wedgewood. Besides, it was 8 a.m., not p.m.

    “ejected”? Um, I think you mean the driver “fell out”., lets all guess his/her BAC….winner gets a six pack of Publix brand beer and loofah for their cart/car.
