Driver ticketed after accident in Publix parking lot

A Villager was ticketed on a charge of improper backing after an accident at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Publix on Bichara Boulevard in The Villages.

Philip J. Colca, 70, was cited after his car began backing out of the parking space entering the travel lane and failed to see a vehicle driven by Robert Andrews of Lady Lake. Colca’s vehicle struck Andrews’ vehicle in the right front corner of the vehicle with its left rear corner.

There were no injuries reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Golf course deserves a failing grade
