Driver ticketed after car leaves roadway, hits light pole at Colony Plaza

A driver was ticketed Thursday morning after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a light pole at Colony Plaza.

The man had been traveling eastbound on County Road 466A and attempting to make a left turn onto Farner Place, but he cut the corner too sharply, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The car hit the curb and left the roadway.

He escaped injury, but was ticketed on a charge of careless driving.
