Driver ticketed following accident on SR 44 in Crystal River

An 18-year-old woman was ticketed after her vehicle collided with another woman’s car Monday morning in Crystal River.

Lauren Ashley Wilkes of Crystal River pulled into the path of a Toyota Prius driven by Victoria Lynn Richter, 54, also of Crystal River, at 9:05 a.m. Monday on State Road 44 near its intersection with West Crystal Oaks Drive, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Both women suffered minor injuries. Wilkes was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center. Richter was transported to Citrus Memorial Hospital.

Wilkes was ticketed on charges of failure to yield, driving while license suspended and no proof of insurance.
