Driver ticketed after running car off road

By Staff Report

A Fruitland Park man was ticketed by Lady Lake police following an accident at 12:54 a.m. Aug. 13 on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 near Water Oak Boulevard.

Jason C. Franks, 37, was ticketed on charges of driving while license suspended and careless driving after running his car off the road and into a drainage ditch.

Franks told the officer that he had been looking at his cell phone while driving, according to the accident report.
