Due to heavy demand tax collector now accepting concealed weapons applications

Local residents are now able to apply for their statewide concealed weapon license at the office of Sumter County Tax Collector Randy Mask.

Florida concealed weapon licenses are processed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Due to rising demand, tax collector offices have been given authority to take application, photo, and fingerprint citizens, sending the information securely to the department for final determination. There are currently more than 1.4 million concealed weapon licenses in Florida, and the department processed more than 134,000 applications for new licenses last fiscal year.

You can schedule an appointment to apply in person at the Sumter County Tax Collector’s office located at 7375 Powell Road, Suite 135, Wildwood.

You can also schedule an appointment at www.sumtercountytaxcollector.com
