Due to state hardware relocation, tax collector won’t take appointments May 9 and 10

The Sumter County Tax Collector’s Office will not be scheduling appointments on Monday, May 9 and Tuesday, May 10 due to expected technology hardware relocation by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

Sumter County Tax Collector Randy Mask said he is taking this action as a precaution.

All other walk-in, online, and phone transactions will be processed as normal.

Citizens who know their driver license, identification card, or vehicle registration will expire on or before May 10 should visit any of my offices or go online to renew on or before 5 PM, Friday, May 6. This will ensure their license, ID card, and/or registration does not expire in the event the state system is not up Monday, May 9.
