Loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Edward “Jack” Thompson, 83, of The Villages, FL, passed away on May 14, 2017. Born May 11, 1934, in Bryn Mahr, PA, attended high school in Henniker and Warner, NH and graduated from University of New Hamphshire in 1956. After serving in the U.S. Army, Ed pursued a career in Insurance, 15 years with United Life & Accident Ins. Co., in Concord, NH and eventually retiring, 24 years later, as VP for Boston Mutual Life Ins. Co. in Canton, MA, in 1998.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Bohr and Edward John Thompson, Sr., brother, William Bohr Thompson and nephew, Chuck Monbleau.
He is survived by his spouse of 58 years, Sandy Thompson, his sons, Kevin (Joy), Steve (Gaby) and David Thompson (Leigh), grandchildren, Brittney deCharmoy (Marc), Shelby & Kurt; Ryan & Tyler; Sarah Piper (Bruce), Beverly & Conner Thompson and great-grandsons, Alex and Zach Piper. He will also be missed by his only sister, Sally, his cousins, Sara Bollman and MaryAnne Scott and nieces and nephews.
Ed loved people and staying active. He especially loved tennis and golf through the years, from Wellfleet on Cape Cod to Estero, FL and The Villages. Ed was also a passionate New England Sports Fan. His “crooked” grin and presence will be missed by family and dear friends.

Visitation starts at 11:45 a.m., service beginning at 12:15 p.m. and internment to follow at St. James Episcopal Church Memory Garden.
