Edward Lynn Stafford, 76, of The Villages, FL, went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 12, 2017. Ed was born in Cherry Valley, Arkansas, and grew up in Wynne, Arkansas. Ed lived in Washington, DC, and Tallahassee, FL, before moving to The Villages, Florida, in 2012. He was a member of Village Park Baptist Church.

Our good Lord has called home one of his best! Ed was a man of integrity, a man who was always helping others, and a man who lived life to its fullest. Ed was also known as Sergeant Major, a position he held during his 33 years in the Marines, previously worked for the FBI, and also was with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Ed was born October 7, 1940, to his parents, Oscar Edward Stafford and Beatrice Barger Stafford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Stafford, and his son, Eric Lynn Stafford.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Norma; two brothers, David Stafford and Charles Stafford; a sister, Rusty Wentzel; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Chapel at First Baptist Church of Leesburg on Thursday, January 19, at 9:30 a.m. with Pastor Cliff Lea officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Village Park Baptist Church Building Fund, 220 N. 13th Street, Leesburg, FL 34748.
