Edwin Frank Kellermann, 85, of Lady Lake, FL, passed from this life on Monday, September 21, 2015. Born in Aberdeen, SD he was the son of the late Rev. Conrad and Caroline (Bechtold) Kellermann. Ed grew up in Miami, Florida, the son of a prominent Lutheran pastor. He was a graduate of Yale University and attended the University of Miami. He served his country during the Korean War as a Navy Lieutenant Junior Grade engineering officer. Ed was a registered professional engineer specializing in water and waste water finance, management and engineering. Following military service he went to work for General Water Works in Miami becoming vice-president for the entire state of Florida for the company. Edwin was instrumental in the construction of the pipeline from Florida City to Key West. He later joined Ray L. Hart & Associates of Miami as a partner. He retired in 1987. Edwin was most proud of his marriage of 63 years to his wife Patricia and of his children. He was a first and foremost a man of deep faith and conviction and was once tagged as a Lutheran‘s Lutheran. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Summerfield. Over the years he served the Lutheran church in numerous capacities. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Ed was an example of courage and bravery in the face of extreme physical adversity. Through over two years of unrelenting suffering, he demonstrated to all around him the deep conviction of his faith and the knowledge that his God walked with him every step of the way and would deliver him safely Home. The cornerstone of Ed’s life was his Lord and Savior. He is survived by his wife, Patricia J. (Wallen) Kellermann, sons, Harry Kellermann, wife Lynn, of Gainesville, GA, James Kellermann, wife Rosa, of Brooksville, FL, daughter, Linda Johnson of Milan, TN, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held in Trinity Lutheran Church, Summerfield on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Debt Retirement Fund in Summerfield, FL or to the Rev. Conrad F. Kellermann Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund, The LCMS Foundation, 1333 S. Kirkwood Rd., Saint Louis, MO 63122-7295.
