Eileen May Wellman McHale, age 90, of Summerfield, FL, went to join her loving savior on April 10, 2017 at The Villages Regional Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on February 6, 1927 to Maynard and Nellie (Mansfield) Wellman and was raised by her stepmother Sarah (Ferguson) Wellman. Eileen graduated from Rome Free Academy and the Excelsior School of Business. She married her beloved husband of 69 years, Kenneth, on September 16, 1947 in Rome, NY. Shortly after her marriage to Ken, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Wardwell hardware in Rome, NY. She continued her bookkeeping career at the Kern Lumber Company while Ken completed his education in electronic engineering at the Capital Radio Engineering Institute. In 1947 they moved to Winter Park, Florida, where Ken pursued his career in missile design for the Martin Company. To be home when her son Michael was home from school, Eileen took a job with the Orange County School system as a cook, a job she remained in for over 30 years. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Kenneth and sons Michael and his wife Sue and Timothy and his wife Michelle. She also leaves her brothers Maynard C. and Bruce A Wellman. She was predeceased by her brother Ronald O. Wellman and sisters Margaret Casey and Marion Raines. Eileen leaves three grandchildren, Matthew and Michael McHale and Robyn Paschall and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service celebrating Eileen’s life will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Beyers Funeral Home at 134 North Highway 27/441 in Lady Lake, Florida. A visitation for family and friends will be from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
