Elaine Vavra, 77, of The Villages, FL, passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 Elaine was born in Long Island, New York on August 24, 1939. She enjoyed golf and bowling. She was a bowling coach for children, a member of the Miami Bowling Hall of Fame and the Florida State Junior Bowling Hall of Fame.

Survivors include loving spouse of 57 years Anthony T. Vavra; son Joseph Vavra (Mary); grandchildren Frank, Julian, Jason, Heidi, Heather and Megan and 8 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Helen Bauer.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. with a prayer service at 4 p.m., located at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159.
