Eugene T. Sullivan

Eugene T. Sullivan, 90, of Weirsdale, FL, a longtime resident of Fruitland Park, passed away on May 19, 2017. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Thomas G. Sullivan and Edna (Miller) Sullivan.

Gene retired from the US Postal Service after a long career. He served his country proudly in the United States Army and Air Force during WWII, including a tour of duty in Germany. Gene was fascinated by technology and could be found, even at 90 years old, helping friends and relatives with computer and technology problems. He loved dogs and always had at least one in his home.

Gene is survived by his daughter Maureen Sullivan (Art) of Weirsdale FL, two sisters Kathleen Sullivan of Ridgewood, NY and Margaret McGhee (Patrick) of Greenpoint, NY, his granddaughter Christine Christ (Scott) of Tavares, FL, his grandson Danny Trabue of Leesburg, FL and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary.

A funeral service will be held at 6:30 on Tuesday, May 23 at the Beyers Funeral Home, 134 North Highway 27/441 in Lady Lake, FL. A visitation for friends and family will be held from 5 p.m. until the service at 6:30 p.m. Interment, with full military honors, will be on Wednesday May 24 at 10 a.m. at the Lakeside Memory Garden in Eustis, FL.
