College professor Terrence O’Keefe (Vic Stevens) writes a murder mystery play. All he needs now is financial backing to get his play produced. He contacts former student Angie (Nancy Sievert) whose father Lou (Ric Mitchell) is owner of a popular Italian restaurant. Lou’s friends Mike (Tony Oteri) and Tino (Jack Diehl) have more than enough ready cash to invest into any promising venture.
Complications arise when the professor correctly concludes that Mike, Tino, and Lou are part of the Mafioso. The fact that Angie has a crush on the Professor is playful twist. Berry Corlew plays the cameo role of Frankie, a debtor who reaps his just desserts.
Tom Dulak’s comedy “Breaking Legs” had a successful Off Broadway run in 1992 and has recently become a popular choice for community and regional theaters.
