Saturday, December 16, 2017 is the 26th annual National Wreaths Across America Day. There will be a local remembrance ceremony held at Shiloh Cemetery in Fruitland Park, Florida starting at Noon in the center of the cemetery located on Shiloh Street.

The American Legion Family of John Gella Memorial Post 219 located on West Fountain Street in Fruitland Park is coordinating the ceremony, and extends an invitation to everyone to attend and to participate by placing wreaths on veterans’ graves.

The “Remember, Honor, Teach” mission of Wreaths Across America {Remember our fallen veterans – Honor those who serve – Teach our children the value of freedom} is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies to recognize our deceased veterans in December at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at national veterans’ cemeteries located in all 50 states and on foreign soil, and at over 1,200 participating locations all around the country!
