A 47-year-old Lady Lake man was jailed after he told police that armed men had broken into his home on Palm Street in Lady Lake.
Alexander Christopher Wilson is facing a charge of filing a false police report.
On Saturday, he allegedly told police that two armed men forced their way into his home and demanded $300. When he said he did not have the money, the men took the keys to his 2014 Nissan Sentra, Wilson reportedly told police.
Meanwhile, Tavares police pulled over the vehicle. Lake County sheriff’s deputies also responded to the traffic stop.
The driver of the vehicle advised law enforcement that Wilson had allowed him to use the vehicle due to Wilson’s driver’s license being suspended.
During a search of the vehicle, a diaper bag containing marijuana and cocaine was discovered. The owner of the diaper bag, 23-year-old Alysia S. Olmo of Leesburg, was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine and marijuana. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and later released after posting $3,000 bond.
Wilson was booked at the Lake County Jail on $1,000 bond.
