False rumor about SECO imposters making rounds on social media

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is calling attention to a false rumor circulating on social media regarding SECO imposters robbing residents in Marion County.

“Beware of internet/social media rumors, we have not received any calls regarding this. Utility workers will be out to do damage assessments as soon as it is safe to do so and AFTER the storm has passed. Right now there are three times the amount of deputies on the road to keep you safe during this storm.

If you see anyone that you feel is suspicious, please call us at 352-732-9111,” the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Sunday evening.
