Father-son duo claims $1 million Florida Lottery prize

A 55-year-old Sarasota man and his son have claimed a $1 million Florida Lottery prize.

Peter Del Pizzo Jr. chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $792,000. He purchased his winning ticket from Publix in North Venice.

Del Pizzo said he and his son bought the Scratch-Off ticket together on a whim.

“When we got home and my son scratched the ticket we thought we won $1,000, but then he kept scratching and more zeroes kept appearing,” said Del Pizzo. “We are both just so incredibly blessed that this happened to us.”
