A 57-year-old Summerfield man blacked out moments before his vehicle crashed Tuesday morning at the entrance to the Birchbrook Villas.
James Nesbihal had been at the wheel of a 2016 Jeep Compass at 8:09 a.m. when he suffered a medical episode and his vehicle struck a concrete traffic sign, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. After striking the sign, the vehicle overturned and went airborne and struck a concrete wall at the villas located behind Mulberry Grove Plaza.
Nesbihal was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center after firefighters arrived on the scene and extricated him from the vehicle.
His injuries were minor, according to the FHP report.
Marion County Fire Rescue and The Villages Public Safety Department responded to the scene along with law enforcement.
