FHP seeking SUV that struck, seriously injured bicyclist in Pasco County

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking an SUV that struck and seriously injured a bicyclist Wednesday afternoon in Pasco County.

The unknown driver of the SUV was traveling southbound on U.S. Alternate Route 19 north of Flora Avenue while Elijah R. Daggy, 37, of Holiday was riding a bicycle along the same route in the bicycle lane, according to an FHP accident report. For reasons unknown, the unknown driver collided with Daggy after traveling in the bike lane and continued to travel southbound leaving the bicyclist seriously injured, the report stated. Laggy had been wearing a helmet.

According to the report, the SUV was  described to be either white or light-colored. Anyone with information regarding the incident, contact the FHP at (813) 631-4020 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 873-TIPS.
