Former Marion County sheriff will take on incumbent Chris Blair

Former Marion County Sheriff Ed Dean has announced that he will run again for the office.

Dean served as Marion County sheriff for 14 years. In 2013, he was succeeded by newly elected Sheriff Chris Blair.

Undersheriff Dan Kuhn had prevailed over Blair in the primary in 2012, but Kuhn had to drop out of the race before the general election due to a scandal involving an extramarital affair. Blair appeared on the general election ballot in place of Kuhn.

Blair is seeking re-election.
