A 45-year-old Ocala man was arrested after improperly crossing U.S. Hwy. 27 in a golf cart.

Capt. Louis Pulford of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office spotted the golf cart cross the roadway at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday near the Budget Host Inn in the 3900 block of U.S. Hwy. 27 in Ocala. Pulford is a former district commander for the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in The Villages.

The man driving the golf cart, Christopher Victor, admitted he did not have a valid driver’s license due to a previous driving under the influence arrest in which he refused to provide a breath sample.

Victor was booked at the Marion County Jail on a charge of driving while license suspended.
