Frank Alan Ousley

Frank Alan Ousley, of The Villages, FL and Wadena, MN, passed from this life on Saturday, January 21, 2017 and was born April 18, 1938 in Wadena, MN to Arthur and Hazel Ousley. He was a native of Wadena attending grade school and high school, graduating in 1956.

Frank served in the Navy 1956 – 1960 aboard aircraft carrier Coral Sea as supply storekeeper. On discharge he attended North Dakota Business College until 1962. In 1966 he married Connie Erickson and had two children, Alan Ousley and Brenda Ousley (Kinderdick). He was employed as a mail carrier at the Wadena Post Office where he served 30 years, retiring in 1992. Frank and Connie started enjoying their retirement years exploring warm climates where they discovered The Villages in sunny Florida, and spent the last 22 winters. They continued to enjoy Minnesota summers at their home in Wadena, Minnesota.

Frank was a man of many interests. He was a hunter, league bowler, golfer, house painter, collector of stamps, coins and antiques at different times in his life. He enjoyed Cribbage games after dinner with Connie and anytime with his brother, David. He took pride in his yard and garden, car care and getting a “good” deal.

Frank’s greatest joy was spending time with his two grandaughters, Sophie – 13 and Ellie 11. Their favorite activity together was having Papa play the role of beauty shop model.

Frank died Saturday, January 21st 2017 at their Florida home, under Hospice care and loving wife, Connie. He received Cornerstorne Hospice Certification for his years of naval service at a ceremony January 12, 2017.

He is survived by his wife Connie, Alan and Brenda, son-in-law Don and grandchildren, Sophie and Ellie. Also, his brother David Ousley and sister-in-law Mary and their three daughters. He had many extended family members and several friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 1 – 2 p.m. with a service to follow at 2 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Lady Lake, FL. Interment will held out of state at Wadena Cemetery, Wadena, MN.
