Fred John Caruso, 95, of Leesburg, FL, went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2015. Mr. Caruso was born on July 02, 1920 to his parents Nunzio and Elizabeth Caruso in Ford City, AK. Fred was a proud veteran of the United States Navy where he fought for our country for 20 years. Fred served in WWII and the Korean War. Shortly after retiring from the Navy Mr. Caruso worked for an electric company in CA for over ten years. Fred then moved to Leesburg FL where he has lived for the past 38 years. Fred was a member of the Leesburg Masons and the American Legions. He enjoyed Fishing and golfing with his friends. Fred was also a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Stealers. Those who had the honor of knowing Fred would say that he was a caring and loving man who was very protective over those who he held dear. Mr. Fred Caruso is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years: Margaret Caruso who had passed away in 1997. He is survived by his Brother: Michael (Geraldine) Caruso, of Ford City, PA; Several Nieces and Nephews; and Special friend: Ann Lessard, of Fruitland Park, FL. Fred was a loving husband, uncle, companion, and friend who will be deeply missed by many. A memorial service in honor of Mr. Caruso will be held on Wednesday September 30, 2015 at The Harbor Oaks Club House from 1 – 3 p.m. A grave side service at Florida National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
