Freddy Krueger and Scream masked bandits sought by Marion County law enforcement

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Ocala Police Department are asking for the community’s help in identifying two individuals who have committed armed robberies in the city and the county this week. During the robberies, the suspects wore distinguishing masks.

Video surveillance captured this image of one of the masked bandits.

MCSO and OPD detectives believe that the duo committed the following offenses: the armed robbery of the Pizza Hut at 9264 SE Maricamp Road,  the attempted armed robbery of the Super 8 Motel at 3924 W Silver Springs Blvd., and the armed robbery of Krystals located at  2420 SW College Road.

In both armed robberies, two suspects wearing dark clothing entered the establishments and demanded money. One suspect wears a “Freddy Krueger” mask and the other wears a “Scream” mask.

An image of the bandits was captured on video surveillance.

In all of the incidents, one is armed and threatens the employees while the other gathers currency in a bag. An undetermined amount of money was stolen during both robberies. In the attempted armed robbery of the Super 8 Motel, the suspects could not enter the business due to the doors being locked and they fled the location.

If you have any information on the identity or location of these suspects, you are encouraged to call the Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 352-368-STOP or 352-368-7867. Tips can also be submitted at www.ocalacrimestoppers.com. For Crime Stoppers,  reference 17-124 in your tip. If you use Crime Stoppers and your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash award.
