A 47-year-old Fruitland Park man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after law enforcement received an anonymous tip.

Frankie E. Harris was pulled over at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at U.S. Hwy. 27 at Griffin State Park by Fruitland Park police. A check revealed that his driver’s license had been suspended. The officer detected the odor of alcohol and took Harris back to the police station for a breath test, which Harris refused.

During the booking process, Harris told the police officer, “I’m intoxicated, it’s not like I’m a real criminal,” according to the arrest report.

He was transported to the Lake County Jail where he was booked on a charge of DUI. He was released after posting $1,000 bond.
