Fruitland Park man charged with DUI near Race Trac

A 27-year-old Fruitland Park man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence Saturday evening by Lady Lake police.

Derrick Wayne Perryman veered off the road and into the grass near the Race Trac service station on U.S. Hwy. 27/441, according to the arrest report.

When he pulled over, he had just left the bar, he told a police officer, according to an arrest report. In Perryman’s vehicle, the officer found a Skol Vodka bottle in the center console and two drinking glasses in the driver’s side door.

Perryman was transported to the Lady Lake Police Station where  he refused to take a breathalyzer test. He was charged with driving under the influence and transported to the Lake County Jail. He posted $1,000 bond and was released with a July 15 court date
