Gail H. Herrick, 81, of Wildwood, Florida, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017. Gail was born on June 29, 1935 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Elsie and George Hill.

After high school, she worked at the Jacksonville Federal Reserve bank as a supervisor. She met Richard in 1962, and they married November 14, 1964 and spent 52 wonderful years together. She stopped working to stay home after her daughter Lisa was born, and then attended cosmetology school. She enjoyed her second career, especially doing the hair of her family and friends.

Gail had a deep, abiding faith all her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wildwood for 37 years and worked with the youth group in addition to using her angelic voice to sing in the choir. She loved to travel and her family toured the continental United States in their motor home on vacations. When they were not traveling in their motor home, they were going on cruises, including two Alaskan cruises and two trips through the Panama Canal. Gail was a beautiful, kind-hearted, giving soul who loved to laugh and had a wonderful since of humor. She loved to sing, especially hymns, and deeply touched the life of everyone she met.

Survivors include her husband Richard Herrick; daughter Lisa Wrightson; sisters Brenda Chiott (Richard) and Carolyn Hill Knight; grandchildren Lindsay Wrightson, Michael Wrightson and Lilian Gail Herrick; her Aunt Polly Fishel; and cousin Lynn Williamson (Richard).

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 3:30 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Wildwood, 402 Oxford Street, Wildwood, FL 34785.
