Born in Doerun, GA on September 30, 1934; died in The Villages, FL on September 10, 2013. George was a member of First Baptist Church at The Villages. He worked with Westinghouse in the beginning years, beginning in the Warehouse working his way up to Region Manager in the Philadelphia area, where he retired. After retirement, sold real estate in Albany with Century 21. He and his wife were members at Byne Baptist Church, Albany, GA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Eliza West of The Villages, FL; sons, Ken of Ukraine, Donald of Dawson, GA, and Michael of Warner Robins, GA; daughters, Debi Piercey of Leesburg, GA, Dawn Gerald of The Villages, FL, Patricia Hinojosa of Sarasota, FL, Michelle Evanoff of Orange Park, FL; brother, Harold of Leesburg, GA; sisters, Louise Lipsey of Albany, GA, Jean Mills of Smithville, GA, Betty Mills of Byron, GA, and Sandra Nicely of Chattanooga, TN; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sun.., Sep. 15, 2013 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at HIERS-BAXLEY FUNERAL SERVICES, The Villages. Funeral service will be Mon., Sep. 16th 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church at The Villages; and committal service, with Pastor Matthew Nance officiating Tue., Sep. 17th 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Cemetery, Albany, GA.
