Georgia Marie Paxton

Georgia Marie (Payne) Paxton, a long-time resident of Wildwood, Florida, successfully completed her life mission and went to meet her Savior and loved ones in Heaven on the 2nd of February at The Villages Hospice House in The Villages, Florida. Georgia was born on August 24, 1927 in Elk Ridge, West Virginia. She spent her life dedicated to her family. She enjoyed any activity that involved her family and their care. Georgia was an excellent cook, always having food available for whoever would stop by. She assisted with the family water well drilling business, as the bookkeeper and secretary. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting. Georgia married the love of her life, Clarence Sebert Paxton, on December 25, 1945 in West Virginia. They moved to Florida in 1955, where Sebert was employed as a machinist and fireman on the railroad. Georgia was a long time attendee of Discovery Church in Wildwood. She was an active volunteer during the time of the church’s bus ministry program. Georgia was preceded in her death by her parents George and Bertha Ellen (Smith) Payne; her husband of 39 years Sebert Paxton; her sister Margaret; her brother Robert (Pete); her daughter Carolyn; and her son Roger. Georgia is survived by her children, Charles (Myra) Paxton, Steve (Debbie) Paxton, Patty (Joey) Collins and daughter-in-law Luellyn; her 10 grandchildren; and her 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2016 in the Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016 in the Discovery Church, Wildwood with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery, Wildwood.
