Giusti and Stuetzle take the lead in Villages Golf Championship

The second round of The Villages Golf Championship was played Wednesday at Lopez Championship Course with Meg Guisti and Steve Stuetzle  pulling away from their first round co-leaders.

Meg followed up her round of 82 Tuesday with a 76 Wednesday, for a total of 158.  Meg has a four shot lead over Kay Schnepf who followed up her 82 Tuesday with a 80 Wednesday, for a total of 162.  In third place is with Paula Boulette with a total of 173.

Steve followed up his round of 72 Tuesday with a 73 Wednesday, for a total of 145.  Steve has a six shot lead over Ed Fletcher and Dan Chiappetta who have a two day total of 151, and Randy Dugger with one more at 152.

The tournament will conclude on Friday at Bonifay Country Club.  The women’s championship flight will tee off beginning at 11:56 a.m. on the Fort Walton nine, with the men following right behind them.

Spectators are welcome to follow the golfers.  If you would like to see the best woman and men golfers in The Villages play, just check in at the starters shack at Fort Walton to obtain a spectator pass on Friday.
