The glare of the evening sun is being blamed for an accident that sent two people to local hospitals.
A vehicle had been traveling west at about 7 p.m. Saturday on County Road 466 and making a left turn into the Village of Belvedere. The sun was in the driver’s eyes and he did not see an eastbound vehicle on County Road 466, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
His vehicle was T-boned by the eastbound vehicle.
His vehicle also struck a third vehicle which had been facing north on Belvedere Boulevard and was stopped at the traffic light.
The man driving the vehicle which had turned was cited for violation of the right of way.
A woman suffered minor injuries and was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital. A second female, who also suffered minor injuries, was transported to Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.
