Golf cart drivers seeing reminder about 10 mph speed limit on bridge

Golf cart drivers now have a prominent reminder of the speed limit on the Lake Sumter Bridge.

In bright, new white lettering on the roadway at both entrances to the bridge it reads “10 MPH.”

District Manager Janet Tutt said the idea came from Villages Homeowners Association President Bill Gottschalk.

There has long been a sign there indicating that the speed limit on the bridge is 10 mph.

But Gottschalk thought a more prominent reminder might help slow drivers down.

The district continues to emphasize golf cart safety.
