Golf cart involved in accident, abandoned near Savannah Center

A red golf cart which appears to have been involved in an accident remained abandoned on the side of the road Thursday morning near the Savannah Center. The golf cart was positioned near the cart path located alongside the southbound lane of Buena Vista Boulevard, near the Savannah Center.

The cart appears to have been involved in an accident earlier today. The windshield was dislodged, and there was visible damage on the front right quarter panel. The cart was missing its passenger-side headlight, but appeared to be in working condition. The only identifying features on the cart were the names of its owners, “Ron and Judy”, and an empty golf course scorecard with the names “Ron” and “Carmine” listed.

If anyone has any information on the accident or knows the owners of the golf cart, contact the Sumter County Sheriff’s office at (352) 569-1600.
