Golf cart, televisions disappear during departure of ‘Renters from Hell’

A golf cart, televisions and bedding disappeared from a rental property on the Historic Side of The Villages about the time the “Renters from Hell” moved out.

The property in the 1800 block of East Schwartz Boulevard is owned by a Wisconsin school superintendent. He inherited the home from a great-aunt and great-uncle who had been long-time residents of Florida’s Friendliest Hometown. He has been renting out the property and has hopes of using it himself after he retires.

The school superintendent, who is not being named by Villages-News.com because he is the victim of a crime, had to make an emergency trip to The Villages after learning what had occurred at his rental property.

He had enjoyed a good string of tenants until now.

According to a report from the Lady Lake Police Department, a 2002 Club Car golf cart, a 48-inch television, a 20-inch television and $300 worth of pillows, towels and bedding were removed from the property.

Over the holidays, the school superintendent flew to Florida to assess the loss. While here, he was able to recover the televisions from a local pawn shop.
