Golf carts vs. vehicles resulted in four deaths in 2016

Three accidents in which vehicles collided with golf carts resulted in a total of four deaths in 2016.

It was the No. 2 story of 2016 in The Villages.

In January, Jeremiah Bullen of the Village of Buttonwood suffered a heart attack moments before his car collided with a golf cart at the Tarpon Boil Executive Golf Course. Bullen later died at Leesburg Regional Medical Center. The driver of the golf cart was treated for injuries at The Villages Regional Hospital. You can read more about that accident HERE

A Fruitland Park man suffered a medical episode moments before his Cadillac SUV left the roadway and struck a golf cart, killing two friends who had been traveling on the multi-modal path near Colony Professional Plaza on County Road 466A. Villager Nancy Ann Von Nostitz, 66, had been driving the golf cart. Her long-time friend, 68-year Marsha Eger, had been riding in the passenger seat of the golf cart. A local pastor who had been jogging on the multi-modal path, was also injured. You can read more about that accident HERE

A 77-year-old Villager was killed in September when his golf cart was struck by a pickup truck near The Villages Regional Hospital. You can read about that accident HERE
