Green Key Village to spice up barren landscape with pool, pickleball court

Green Key Village, the solar-powered community on Lake Ella Road in Lady Lake, has ambitious plans to add amenities including a pool and pickleball courts.

The development boasts of offering “old Florida charm” with “new green living.” But the reality for the early inhabitants has been a scattering of homes on a barren landscape without trees and virtually no amenities.

According to plans filed with the Town of Lady Lake, that is apparently about to change.

Plans call for:

• A 1,800-square foot pickleball court

• A 7,200-square foot tennis court

• A 2,350-square foot half basketball court

• An 8,906-square foot area for a community pool with concrete deck and two pavilions

These planned additions are on the agenda for the Lady Lake Planning & Zoning Committee which meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Town Hall.

Not on the agenda, but on the Green Key Village website, are promised amenities including a dog park, fitness trail and children’s playground.

A total of 148 homes are planned. The models come in three- and four-bedroom floor plans and are priced in the mid-$300,00 range.

The development is located at 1635 Lake Ella Road.
