A handyman arrested earlier this year after allegedly helping himself to $32,000 from a Villager’s bank account, is now charged with ripping off a second Villager.
Mark Dwayne Guemble, 47, was charged in January with taking the money from a 77-year-old retired Navy veteran living in the Village of Rio Grande who had employed Guemble to perform lawn care and handyman work. That case is pending in Sumter County Court.
Guemble was being held on $5,000 bond at the Lake County Jail following his arrest earlier this month on another warrant charging him with grand theft from a person 65 years of age or older. According to information from the prosecutor’s office, Guemble is suspected of taking more than $10,000 from a 78-year-old Villager. The theft is believed to have occurred between March 1, and Nov. 3, 2016.
If Guemble makes bond, he is to have no contact with the victim, according to court documents.
