Harold Resnick, age 87, passed away in The Villages, Florida Tuesday, November 24, 2015. Harold was born in New York City and moved to Leesburg, Florida area in 2013 from Boynton Beach, Florida. He was a proud Veteran of the U. S. Navy, and a Master Mason; and he went on to pursue a successful career as an accountant and finance director. He worked many years in the men’s garment industry in New York as a Financial Controller before moving to Broward County, Florida to become the Director of the Broward County Airports, a position which he held for over 15 years before retiring. Harold was a very likable person and his comedic personality allowed him to make friends easily. He is described by those closest to him as kind and sensitive, a person who sincerely cared about others and was always willing to help when there was a need. Harold and his wife Lorraine traveled the world and he truly loved his experiences sightseeing some of the most spectacular places on earth with his visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra, India being his favorite. He loved all of the arts and enjoyed museums and all forms of creativity, but most of all he had a passion for the dramatic arts. His personal dramatic performances spanned most of his life beginning in high school and through the years he carried many leading rolls in regional theater performances throughout New York and Florida. He was known for his beautiful Tenor’s voice and even during his illness was heard humming and singing his favorite tunes “Danny Boy” and I’ve Got Rhythm.” Survivors include his high school sweetheart and loving wife and of 68 years Lorraine; children – Karen (Charlie) Martin of The Villages; and Richard (Naomi) Resnick of Rockville, Maryland; 3 grandchildren – Stacy, Deborah and Ilana and 4 great-grandchildren – Leah, Miya, Matthew, and Emily. A funeral service celebrating Harold’s life is planned for 2:30 PM, Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Page-Theus Funeral Home 914 West Main St. (downtown) Leesburg, Florida, with Rabbi Karen Allen serving as Officiant. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, Florida.
