A 45-year-old housekeeper arrested in May after allegedly stealing and pawning jewelry from clients in the Village of St. James and the Village of Lake Deaton has landed back behind bars.
Sharon Dieffenbach of Fruitland Park was arrested at 11:26 p.m. Monday by Fruitland Park police on warrants charging her with grand theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.
Dieffenbach is already facing a charge she took a gold bracelet from a home on Yankee Clipper Run in the Village of St. James and on May 3 pawned it at Family Jewelry & Pawn in Leesburg.
In addition, two yellow gold rings were discovered missing on May 5 from a home on Infinity Run in the Village of Lake Deaton. The rings were valued at $3,500. A detective discovered that one of the rings had been pawned for $50 on May 5 at Value Pawn in Leesburg. A second ring was pawned for $75 on May 6 at Family Jewelry & Pawn in Leesburg. The owner then went to the pawn shops and bought the rings back for a total of $125.
Those cases are still pending in Sumter County Court.
In 2014, Dieffenbach had been arrested for violating her probation in a previous case.
