A 63-year-old Fruitland Park man is being held on $5,000 bond after he allegedly stole a check from his ex-wife.

Galen Louis Pearlman was arrested Thursday by Lake County sheriff’s deputies.

Pearlman’s ex-wife had allowed him to stay at her home and care for her pets while she was out of town in July, according to an arrest report.

When she returned, she found a check missing from her unused checks.

Pearlman wrote himself a $200 check, the arrest report indicated.

He is facing charges of petit theft, criminal use of personal identification information and uttering a forged instrument.
