Hugh Carlon Bodenstine Jr.

Hugh Carlon Bodenstine, Jr. December 14, 1927 – July 20, 2014 Hugh Carlon Bodenstine, Jr., beloved husband of Loving Wife Ann, Father of Carol (Doug) Gutridge, Paul (Lindsay), Thomas (Cissy), Christopher (Erica) and Elizabeth (Gary) Schuld, Step father to Robert Arnold(Jennifer), brother to Tom Bodenstine (Mary), “Granddad” to 16 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Carlon, Sr. and Ann Bodenstine, his younger brother Paul Bodenstine; his loving wife Jane (Feaster) Bodenstine, mother of six children and his youngest child, Faith Doering (Chris). Carl retired after a 40 year career as a salesman with Timmerman/Eaton Corporation. He was a kind man with a big heart. He was quick with a joke or two and took great pleasure in getting people to smile. He was very proud of his volunteer work as an Auxiliary police officer and he served in the communities where he lived his life, places like Haverford Township, PA., Signal Mountain, TN., Fairview Park, OH, and Tallahassee, FL. Carl eventually became Coordinator of the Auxiliary Volunteer Program at the Tallahassee Police Department and was named “Volunteer of the Year for Civic Services.” When Carl was unable to continue his police work, he volunteered at The Regional Hospital at The Villages, FL., and was a proud member of the COPS Program of Marion County, FL. He continued to carry his treasured Auxiliary Police Badge with him at all times in case anyone needed his help. We will miss him dearly! Burial will be in Cleveland, Ohio.
