IHop and Paul Davis Restoration pull major upsets and advance to playoff semifinals

FIRST ROUND RESULTS

 

PAUL DAVIS RESTORATION 13  HARLAN INSURANCE 10

Paul Davis scored 5 runs in the 6th for the come from behind victory over Harlan. They were led by Bill Dunkley(1 RBI) and Bob Buchanan(3 RBI’s) who each had 4 hits. Manager Jeff Bekasi added 3 hits/3RBI’s while Sam Patrick had 2 hits/and 3 RBI’s. In the loss Chick Cicatelli and Craig Dahlquist each had 3 hits and 2 RBI’s.

 

SOFTBALL’S R GAME 10  PERKINS 5

SRG doubled up the score on Perkins behind  3 hits from Pat Perkins and 2 hits each from Mike Bernbach(3 RBI’s), Scott Marshall(2 RBI’s) and John Kushner(2 RBI’s). Sunny LeGrand and Randy Bowen led Perkins with 4 and 3 hits respectively. Four others players had 2 hits each.

 

IHOP 11  SYNERGY WEALTH 7

IHOP built an 11-5 lead and held on for the win. The win was paced by Will Kutter who had a 1st inning grand slam homerun and a total of 5 RBI’s. John Buchanan added 3 hits while Woody Wood and Wayne Mallory 2 hits each. Synergy was led by Tony Prettitore’s 3 hits and Bud Ramsey’s 2 hits/3 RBI’s.

 

ARDEN JEWELER’S 19  HUMANA  13

Arden sent 16 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs in the top of the 7th inning to pull off the improbable upset over Humana. Don Mulneix led the win with 5 hits and 4 RBI’s while Walt Banko and Tim Carroll both added 4 hits and 2 RBI’s. In the loss Humana was led by Dave Oatley’s 4 hits while Bob Roth(3 RBI’s) and Jim Glover(2 RBI’s) each added 2 hits.

 

SECOND ROUND RESULTS

 

BABIARZ 10  SRG 2

Babiarz jumped out to a 7-0 lead and held SRG only 8 hits for the win. Ed Moriarity led Babiarz with 4 hits and Chuck Mays chipped in with 3 hits and 2 RBI’s. Three other players had 2 hits each. Ed Krisha was the only SRG player with 2 hits.

 

FROSS & FROSS 13  ARDEN 5

Number one seed Fross&Fross built a 7-1 lead and then swapped runs with Arden to advance to the semifinal round. Carl McWiliams led the win with 4 hits and 2 RBI’s while Dave Pope added 2 hits and 3 RBI’s. Six other players chipped in 2 hits each. Don Mulneix, Tim Carroll, Tom Farrell and Gary Lewis all had 2 hits in the elimination loss.

 

PAUL DAVIS RESTORATION 14  MULBERRY 13

Paul Davis, down 9-5, scored 9 runs over the last 4 innings to pull the big upset and eliminate second seeded Mulberry. Sam Patrick led the win with 4 hits while Bill Dunkley had 3 hits and 2 RBI’s.  Denis Hodge added 2 hits/3 RBI’s and manager Jeff Bekasi had 3 RBI’s. Some strong outfield defense by Denis Hodge in the bottom of the 7th inning helped to preserve the win. Mulberry was led by 3 hits each from Ed Haith(1 RBI), Ed DeMaio(1 RBI) and Ralph Furbush(2 RBI’s). Tom Ramberg added 2 hits and 3 RBI’s in the loss.

 

IHOP13  3AMIGOS 3

In the final upset of the day IHOP fell behind 2-0 early and then outscored 3Amigos 13 to 1 to eliminate the third seeded team. Wayne Mallory(2 RBI’s) and Bill Reed(1 RBI) both had 3 hits to lead the win. Wayne had a 2 run homer. Duane Broschat  had 2 hits/3RBI’s while 4 other players had 2 hits each. John Reedy, Jim Wheeler, Dave Hinkley and pitcher Dale Moses all had 2 hits in the loss.
