Items reportedly stolen from garage when Spruce Creek South resident leaves to walk dog

A garage was reportedly burglarized last week in Spruce Creek South in Summerfield when a resident took her dog for a walk.

The 78-year-old woman got into her golf cart with her dog at 6 a.m. Friday to go the dog park for a walk, according to an incident report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

When she returned, she realized she had left the garage door open.

The following day when her son went to mow the lawn, he discovered that a weed eater and gas-powered blower were gone. A pair of Reebok tennis shoes were also missing.
