Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ F. Marks O’Connell

Jacqueline (Jackie) F. Marks O’Connell, 89, passed away on March 7, 2015. Born on April 18, 1925, in South Boston, MA, she was raised in Somerville, MA. She was predeceased by her parents John D. Marks and Gertrude Hogan Marks and by her husband, J. Reginald O’Connell, to whom she was married on October 4, 1947. She is survived by her son, Douglas (Debby) of The Villages, FL, grandsons Kirk (Lisa) of Draper, UT, Scott (Mary Ellen) of Riverside, RI, granddaughter, Teresa (Simon) Baker of South Jordan, UT, and great grandchildren Zachary and Kaitlyn O’Connell, Dylan and Emma O’Connell, and Finn Baker. She is also survived by cousins Richard D. Forrest of Palm City, FL, and Jean M. MacDonald of Halifax, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jackie had several occupations during her life. She worked as baker’s assistant, photographic enhancement technician and data entry supervisor among them. Her love of children drew her to long term babysitting during the latter part of her working career. Jackie lived in the Boston area with her husband until his death. She moved to Miami, FL, for a few years before returning north to Brookfield, CT, for twenty-five years. Her last home was in The Villages, FL, until moving to Hawthorne Village Nursing Facility. A Mass of Christian Burial will be performed at St. Vincent de Paul Church at 10:30 a.m. on March 17, 2015. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity would be deeply appreciated.
