James E. McCauley

James E. McCauley, 72, passed from this life Thursday, December 15, 2016. Born in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Jane (Dunn) McCauley.
James was a Regional Manager of Materials for CSX Railroad. He retired after 38 years of service from the Jacksonville, FL office.
James served as President of the Southern Southwestern Railroad Club and the Lions Club in MD. He was also the President of the Arundel Athletic Association taking the Red Devils fast pitch softball team to the Junior Olympics National Tournament in 1984.
James and his wife, Jane, came to The Villages from New York in 2001. He was an avid golfer and a member of The Villages Bandits East Golf Club. James enjoyed the camaraderie of his friends at GarVino’s in Sumter Landing. An afternoon spent at the race track followed by an evening playing Texas Hold’em was his idea of a perfect day.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Jane A. (LaMotte) McCauley; daughters; Chrissy Peak, Tavares, FL; Robin McCauley, Longwood, FL ; 2 grandchildren, Jackson and Leo and a brother; Joseph McCauley, Jacksonville, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages at Noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics 1133 19th St., NW 12th Floor, Washington, DC 20036-3604 (specialolympics.org).
