Jim Keane

Jim Keane, 68, of The Villages, died peacefully on August 5, 2013 at Cornerstone Hospice. Born in Alexandria, Virginia on November 30, 1944, Jim was a retired Recreation Center Director. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-1974. He moved to The Villages from Bowie, Maryland in 2004.
He loved playing softball, umpiring, pickle ball, and golf.
He was a graduate of the University of Maryland and an avid Terps and Redskin fan! He was a member of the American Legion Post 347, Lady Lake.
His special joy was his family. He leaves his wife of 29 years, Lynn (Terrill) Keane, his children, Stacey Ruberti (Ted) of Delaware, Beth Anne Fowble (Travis) of Mt. Airy, MD. He also leaves behind his brothers and sister-in-laws, Ed Keane, Mike and Susie Keane, the late Dennis Keane and Virginia Keane, and Tim and Claire Keane. He also leaves behind his wife’s family, Alice Terrill, Terry and Barb Terrill, Brett and Claire Terrill, Beth and Mark Magaw, Chris Terrill and Ginny Pontious, Ginny and Joe Frisco, Tricia and Bob Orr, K.C. and Flo Terrill and Jimmy Terrill. He leaves behind Dave and Marie Whear and Roger and Betty Whear. He also leaves six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The Celebration of his Life service will be held Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 250 Avenida Los Angelos, The Villages. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lazarus Medical Center, 210 Wonders St., Wildwood, FL 34785.
