Joe Dollarton, 69, of The Villages, FL, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. He grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, son of the late James Donald and Elizabeth Whitney Dollarton.
Joe had lived in The Villages for 12 years, moving here from Waldorf, Maryland.
Joe was an electrician and was a member of IBEW Local 26 in Maryland. He retired to The Villages where he enjoyed playing golf and making new friends. He worked at Cane Garden Golf Course as a starter and made many friends there; he was famous for his greeting “Top of the morning to you.”
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Reeves Dollarton, and loving daughter, Colene Luczak (Marcus), Reston, Virginia; three grandchildren, Ryan, Piper and Lucy Luczak; brother, Don Dollarton (Eileen); nephews, Jimmy and Terry Dollarton; brother-in-law, Al Macsay. He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Macsay.
Friends will gather to celebrate Joe’s life, which would have been his 70th birthday, on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hiers-Baxley Life Event Center, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, Florida.
