Joe ‘Poppy’ St. George

Joe “Poppy” St. George, 84, of Summerfield, Florida passed away Monday, February 2, 2015. Joe moved to Summerfield 23 years ago from Kingston, New York. He was a life member of the East Kingston Volunteer Fire Company and served as their past President and Assistant Chief. Prior to his retirement he was a diesel mechanic on heavy equipment and over the road trucks. Joe was an active parishioner at St. Theresa Catholic Church serving as an usher for several years. He was a loving husband, father and Poppy to his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sarah Falciglia St. George; two daughters, Susan Rowe (Chip), Kingston, NY, Joanne DeGraff (Gary), Ocala, FL; son, Steven St. George; eight grandchildren, Justin, Danielle, Carolyn, Lauren, Brian, Samantha, Reanne, Ashley; one great grandchild, Marley Rae; sister, Frances Bennett and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to St. Theresa Catholic Church or Hospice of Marion County. A memorial mass and interment will be held at a later date.
