‘John Doe’ arrested after spotted urinating in bushes at Brownwood Paddock Square

A man initially booked as “John Doe,” was arrested after he was spotted urinating in bushes Sunday night at Brownwood Paddock Square.

Wildwood police officers responded to an alarm at 7:44 p.m. at the Van Heusen store on Brownwood Boulevard. They spotted a man who was urinating into the bushes.

The defendant had no identification on him and was intoxicated to the point that he was unwilling or unable to give me his name and stated only that he was from ‘Mexico,’” the arrest report said.

The officers attempted to ask the man if he was trying to enter the business and he said “yes,” but spoke “very broken English,” the report indicated. The man tensed up when officers tried to pat him down in a check for weapons. They put him in handcuffs and he resisted efforts to be put in the back of a patrol car.

When officers got the man to the Sumter County Detention Center they attempted to use Rapid ID to identify him, but he continued to physically resist.

Ultimately he was identified as Mariano Patishtan-Jiminez, 30, of Tampa, and booked on charges of disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest. Bond was set at $2,000.
